John Boland’s practice focuses on tax and legal issues affecting closely-held businesses including estate planning, succession planning, tax return preparation, tax planning, real estate transactions, financing transactions, business formations, business restructures and expert witness matters.

Clients include medical professionals, real estate investors, construction companies, consultants, and banking professionals.

His expert witness experience includes arbitration hearings and divorce court matters. John has also taught business law and tax law to other accounting professionals. He has lectured to the Illinois Paralegal Association on estate planning matters. His experience includes working in public accounting, law firms and with a real estate investment fund.

John graduated cum laude from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Accounting. He passed the C.P.A. Exam on the first test (less than 25% of those testing do so). John graduated Loyola University Law School. He was admitted as a Certified Public Accountant and became licensed to practice law shortly after.

Outside the office, John has been a Cubmaster and leader in Cub Scouts as well as an athletic coach in junior basketball and baseball. He is an Eagle Scout and was involved with Boy Scouts holding district level positions as a junior leader.
